My Creative Celebrant Vision for 2022

My Creative Celebrant Vision for 2022
This is the time of year when we start thinking about goals and visions for the coming year. I have a vision for my year as a creative celebrant in 2022 and it’s a simple one. In this vision, I’m standing in rooms full of love. The love of a couple celebrating their wedding or vow renewal. The love of parents for their new child. The love of friends for each other and the love of the happily single for life.

In these rooms, I see the best and finest that humanity has to offer. Generosity of spirit. Kindness. A real desire to wish the main players in the ceremony well. Children playing and laughing. Family members quietly making sure everything is in place so that the couple or family don’t have to worry about anything. And above all, an outpouring of love and goodwill.

Rooms Filled With Laughter

Some of the rooms are filled with laughter. The antics of children and dogs has the audience in stitches. The nuggets of humour I put into a couple’s love story go down great with the audience. And sometimes the emotion of the day just spills over into laughter.

The laughter can be a cover for the sense of awe and wonder that fills people as the ceremony unfolds. They suddenly realise that they are going to be together for life. That they have created a new little human. That they have been friends for decades. That they have achieved the milestone they always dreamed of achieving.

Rooms Filled With Love

Other rooms are full of sadness. People are saying goodbye to their loved ones, to someone who was very precious to them and who made a real impact on their lives. You would think I wouldn’t want to be in rooms like that, But I do. Because those rooms are also full of love. And they’re full of people who want to offer their support and compassion. Once again, I’m seeing the best and finest that humanity has to offer.

This pic captures the feeling that I’m aiming to give people when I deliver ceremonies for them.

In these rooms, my words matter. I can feel those words landing with the crowd, giving them comfort. Those words give shape to what they’re experiencing. They capture the spirit of the person who has gone, making sure they defined by how they lived, not how they passed away. With these words, their loved ones can say goodbye in a way that’s meaningful and personal to them.

This is what I dream of when I think of ceremonies. And with the help of ace celebrant coach Jennifer Claire Constant, I will make that dream come true, for you and for me.

As a celebrant, I’m here to make your vision for your ceremony become a reality. If you like what you’ve read and you want to get in touch, call me, Celebrant Derv, on 0876959799.
